InStatによる統計解析
Step 1: データフォーマットの選択
データを入力する前に、解析目的とデータ種類を決定します。
A. 統計解析の目的は？
ダイアログ左上の「A. Specify your goal」で、行いたい統計解析を選択します。ここでは「Compare means (or medians)」を選択します。
B. 用いるデータの種類は？
ダイアログ左下の「B. Choose your data entry format」で、データの種類を選択します。ここでは「Raw data」を選択します。
統計解析の目的およびデータ種類を選び、画面右下にある右矢印 [→] ボタンをクリックします。
Step 2: データ入力
テーブルにデータを入力します。データ入力の方法は、直接入力だけではなくインポート、コピー＆ペーストもサポートしています。
データ入力後、InStat画面右下の右矢印 [→] ボタンをクリックします。
それぞれのステップに戻る・進む場合は、画面下のボタンをクリックします。統計解析およびデータ種類の選択を訂正する場合は、[1st]ボタン、または左矢印 [←] ボタンをクリックするとStep1ダイアログに戻ります。
Step 3: 統計の要約
Step3では平均値(mean)、標準偏差（SD）、標準誤差(SEM)、信頼区間など統計の要約が表示されます。すでに別のプログラムでデータ分析を行っている場合、Step3ダイアログで直接、平均値やSD(あるいはSEM)を入力することも可能です。
Step 4: 統計検定の選択
Step4では必要な解析法を決定します。各項目の条件を選択し、最適な統計手法を導きだします。
- 1. 対応のない比較検定か、対応のある比較検定か？
- 2. サンプルの分布は正規分布しているか?
- 3. 片側P値か、両側P値か？
ここでは、1. Perform unpaird test (対応のない比較検定)、2. Assume the populations have equal SDs. (母集団の分散が等しいパラメトリックテスト）、3. Two-tail P value（両側P値）を選択します。選択した内容から、解析法としてUnpaird t test（対応のないt検定）が選ばれました。
Step 5: 結果の考察
InStatの解析結果は統計専門用語を出来るだけ排した分かりやすい内容になっています。選択した検定の適切性の確認、解析結果の説明を参照するには、ダイアログ左下の[ Checklist ]ボタンをクリックします。

The t test assumes that the data are sampled from populations that follow Gaussian distributions.
This assumption is tested using the method Koling calculations test that assumption.

Step6
6つ目のボタンをクリックするとグラフが表示されます。データの感覚的な把握を目的としたシンプルなグラフとなっており、グラフの変更や編集機能はありませんが、印刷やクリップボードへのコピーは可能です。
InStatは6つのステップを順番にふむ必要はありません。データの編集や、分析方法を変更した際は即座に結果が再計算されます。
